Seasons in Japanese

Japan is a beautiful country full of natural beauty. With that being said, each season has its own natural beauty in Japan. Season in Japanese is きせつ (kisetsu) – 季節。There are 4 seasons in Japan. Today on this post we will learn about Japanese word for each season with Hiragana and Kanji.

During spring people enjoy beautiful さくら(Sakura) – 桜 or Cherry blossom. Spring in Japan starts from March and ends around May.

Summerなつ

Summer season which generally starts from June and ends around August is also beautiful in Japan. This is the main season when people travels the most across Japan.

Autumnあき

People enjoys colorful leaves called もみじ (Momiji) – 紅葉 in Autumn. The weather is not so hot and not so cold. Autumn in Japan starts from the month of September and ends around November.

Winterふゆ

Winter starts from December and ends around February. During winter it is the peak time for traveling north of Japan. On the main land Japan, people gets engaged in different snow activities like snowboarding, skiing and so on.
